I came to know Mustafa during COVID 19 lockdown as we were approaching difficult and confusing times. He reminded me that his service is not substitute to solicitors’ and should not be taken as one. However, I soon realised he has indeed great knowledge in the field stemming from his tribunal rigid attendance but also his personal experience in the tribunal as he successfully helped many claimants.
His initial take of the ET1 (I already lodged by then) didn’t surprise me as I knew I rushed my claim just not to be out of time. His assessment however helped me to see how so poorly it was put. Not only that I didn’t give away much of the long ordeal I had to go through with my employer but also I misused and confused some legal terms which surely wasn’t going to serve me any good.
With his patient, polite and constructive assessment of my ET1, Mustafa was able to point out the weaknesses of the document and the need to submit a more professional “particulars of claim”. He also emphasised the need to prepare a chronology that demonstrate deep understanding of the issues and stand plausible in front of tribunal.
The more he spoke of weakness points, the more I felt the need to read and search around my claims’ issues.
I spent a great deal of the lockdown doing just that and I ended up with a much better improved “particulars of claim” which later I was able to submit in a preliminary hearing. This document avoided me falling into the trap of easy and quick “strike out” or “deposit order” which the respondent planned for.
I owe it mainly to Mustafa and his motivational advice at time. I’m sure he would be able to guide you through in the same way and you should feel safe in his capable hands or in this case his capable knowledge of the employment tribunal business. You, however, still need to do your homework because after all no one would understand or take interest in your case as much as you do”.
